It's been quite some time since I've updated this. I figured today is as good a day to update as any. I was recently in a car accident. Funny right? I mean, look to the bottom of this page and you'll see an explicit rant about cops and being pulled over and how much bullshit it all was. Well, now here's another.
I was driving home (going north) and some guy was pulling out of a parking lot to cross three lanes of traffic to go south. Some moron in a huge behemoth of a truck felt it was appropriate to stop traffic to let this guy go through. This was highly illegal on both parts. If it had not been for the yellow light I was approaching, I would have been going twice as fast. I, in all honesty, owe my life to that light. My tiny Korean vehicle (made in the proud South Korean town of Ulsan) was crushed a bit. The hood is bent but the car runs. It was appraised earlier today and the appraiser confirmed my hopes that it was only a cosmetic type situation. The man who I hit was very nice, just, not well versed in traffic do's and do not's. His insurance company has offered to take care of the issue and for that I am grateful. I feel very blessed to not have died. I was very shook up at first (just ask Adam). I was crying for about an hour and it took the West Valley Police over an hour and a half to get there. Luckily Mom was on the way to rescue me.
Everything will be fine. I will be taking the car to one of the Auto Body shops to get the dents and everything taken care of soon. I had to take two days off of work just to deal with insurance company stuff. I was more worried than it was worth though.
Like I say, very lucky I wasn't going faster, otherwise, this blog would cease. And then...what would Adam look forward to reading?
